NOW
ACCEPTING 2008-2009 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS!
Each year DOCO Regional Federal Credit Union awards two $1,500 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who meet our eligibility requirements. Our focus is to recognize and provide assistance to two students who need a little extra boost to get their college career up and running. We realize that many students miss out on Hope assistance because of their grade point average. And, many of those students may not be eligible for other means of financial assistance beyond student loans. We want to help ease the financial burden and give two deserving students a little help beginning their college careers.
Two
$1,500 scholarships are awarded to selected applicants meeting
the following eligibility criteria:
- The applicant
must be a dependant of a primary member of DOCO Regional FCU.
The primary member must have been a member for at least 3 months,
and their account must be in good standing.
- The applicant
must be a senior in high school who will be enrolled or plan
to be enrolled in an undergraduate course of study during the
designated school year at an accredited 2- or 4-year college,
university or vocational technical college in the U.S.
- This scholarship
is designed for those applicants not eligible to receive HOPE
assistance, Pell Grant or other significant financial assistance
excluding student loans. Therefore, the applicant must present
documentation to prove:
-
A GPA
below 3.2 (or 85 numeric system) if earning a Tech Career
Diploma.
- A
GPA below 3.0 (or 80 numeric system) if earning a College
Prep Diploma.
- Members
of the DOCO Regional FCU Board of Directors and the Scholarship
Committee and their immediate family members/dependants of the
same household are not eligible to receive credit union scholarships.
- Scholarship
applications and accompanying documentation must be completed
in full and returned to the credit union by the submission deadline
to be considered for scholarship awards.
